Hey Girl, Get Connected!

Technology needs more women of color at the table. Femmecubator’s mission is to bridge inequities in tech through mentorship and community.

Promoting Learning Opportunities through Civic Technology Initiatives

Femmecubator is committed to creating opportunities for emerging technologists to lead and innovate.

Each year, we convene partner orgs and changemakers for the Open Sprints Civic Tech Hackathon—held in collaboration with universities, meetup groups, industry mentors, and grassroots tech organizations. Explore The Open Sprints Project, where technologists connect and contribute to impactful, socially driven initiatives.

How to Get Started

Attend Co-working Calls

Bring your fave snack, a personal project, good vibes, and join us on the Femmecubator Discord for our virtual co-working call. We invite mentors and sprint leads to demo their projects in the later part of the session too. Check things off your list as you build organic connections and meet your next mentor at this virtual event.

Become a Mentor

We are a volunteer-led community of mentors in Software and Product Development.
Join as a speaker/facilitator to host one-off and beginner-friendly workshops. Cohort mentors are paired up with a developer or design mentee to provide 1-on-1 support or while working to lead projects through The annual Open Sprints Hackathon.

Contribute to Civic Tech Projects

Every year, we assemble volunteers and cohort fellows to work on social good projects through Open Sprints. Projects are pre-planned by the Ops team, and will be launched at a hackathon event with a partner school. Our sprint and sync meetings operate within a 2-3 month timeline depending on the project’s complexity.
